Advertising pays for the internet. I’m in that business to pay the bills. Just don’t ever let your advertising dictate your opinions (you already knew that). Great job, and keep it up.

    PS Cute kid!

      Thanks, Matt!

I don’t mind the ads because they are of interest to me too. I’m always interested in researching new and high quality gear…

    • SoleAdventure

Glad to hear it, Scott. I won’t have any advertiser that isn’t relevant to my content and readers.

  • Thoughtful advertising that is aligned to your own recommendations is the sort of monetary harmony I would expect.

What burns my hide is all the male “enhancement” ads littering the back pages of iconic hunting periodicals. I shouldn’t have to tear out pages of outdoor mags before sharing them with my pre-teen daughters. But I digress…Keep up the GREAT work, Mark!

That is a shame, isn’t it Tom? That’s one reason why I don’t like selling ad space to agencies or solutions like Google – you can influence what shows up, but you can’t control it. Things shall remain “clean” around here. ;-)

Impressed that you have gotten to this point Mark. It’s an important milestone for a blogger and obviously you are being thoughtful about it. Keep up the good work and I will keep reading.

    • SoleAdventure

Thank you, Mike! I really appreciate it.

  • I admire how you bring it all together…the blog, facebook, twitter, instagram. I don’t know how your able to keep up with it all and still be able to give it 110%. As I was reading down through this you had me worried that maybe the site was going away…glad it isn’t. I’m always looking forward to your informative and well written posts Mark.

Thanks, Brent! It can be tough to keep all of the channels updated, but with a little organization it isn’t too bad. Thanks for reading!

  • Matt Mitchell

It honestly surprised me you didn’t have ads before now! Congrats Mark and keep up the good work!

I just LOVE that picture of you and your son! I started my son shooting at 5 years old, and at 11 years old he took a 6 point buck, and then an 8 point,! He had to use a crossbow, because he wasn’t strong enough for a regular bow, in my opinion, to be reliable. And we do not want to wound an animal to have it hobble away and die or be sick and not be able to harvest it. My kids have been eating venison as soon as they could eat solid food! Please be safe out there so ypu and your beautiful son can enjoy many happy years hunting together. I love spending time with my kid in the outdoors. Nothing like it.

Forget the haters. Ads help you pay the bills. Period. You are not gonna get rich on them.

    Walt K.

That’s awesome, Walt. Congrats to you and your son! I can’t wait to get out there with my kids.
