We are close to wrapping up another calendar year, and since I started Sole Adventure in the month of January, I am getting ready to celebrate another anniversary of this site. 2012 has been an amazing year of growth and new opportunities, and I can’t wait for 2013! I am just around the corner from releasing some awesome updates, including a new design for Sole Adventure, coverage of every bowhunter’s paradise (aka “the ATA Show“), and more!
Before I sign out for Christmas and the New Year, I thought it would be good to take a look back at 2012 and share 12 of my favorite posts from this year. I had a hard time narrowing this down to just 12, but here they are…

This article means a lot to me, both on a personal level, and on a practical level. And as you will see, this article is a big part of where I am headed in 2013.

This post is nothing more than me working through some thoughts that I had in my head. But the really cool part is when those thoughts connect with readers and kick off a great discussion. I love it when that happens!

I come back to this article time and time again. Mindset is such a huge part of hunting and this post reminds me of where I need to focus.
Book Review – Man on the Run by Zeke Pipher
This book hit me like a ton of bricks. Zeke speaks directly to where I am at in life, the challenges that I face, and the things that I need to watch out for. I have made it a goal to read this book every year and take inventory on my life.

It still amazes me how this one simple exercise can do so much for your shooting.

One of my many posts for Wired to Hunt; I had a ton of fun writing there this year.
Reflections from Opening Morning – The Unseeen Fortune of a Hunter
This post captured one of those mornings that hit you with meaning and significance when you are least expecting it. I love the way that I was able to put my thoughts into words with this one.

Hunting – What you kill vs. How you kill it
This post not only captures one of the most exciting moments of my hunting season this year, it is also a bit of my hunting manifesto. Even cooler is that this post was picked up by Meat Eater, which was a huge honor.
Big News! I Have Joined The Elite Archery Pro Staff
It was exciting to share this announcement! It is an honor to represent a company that I believe in so wholeheartedly, and I am excited about all of the doors that this opportunity has opened up for me. Most people think this is about scoring some free gear, but to me this is about a chance to support the industry and the opportunity to hang out with bowhunters and archers while “working” shows and events.
