I took this photograph last year, while visiting the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery during Memorial Day weekend. Over 150,000 men and women are buried there, including my Grandfather.
As we embark upon this day of grilling, relaxing, and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family, let us remember that this day means much more than the unofficial start of summer. Let us remember those who have gone before us and purchased our freedom with the blood.
They are never forgotten…
