I thought I would try something new here at Sole Adventure. I am starting “The Friday Files”. Each Friday I will be sharing some links to articles, blogs, videos, etc., that I find particularly interesting or helpful. That is, assuming I find enough noteworthy items that week. Unlike most of my posts, the Friday Files may not be about bowhunting and the outdoors all of the time, but chances are most of the items will be related. Basically anything I find interesting can wind up in The Friday Files. Let’s see how this goes!
First, a favor…
My buddy Will has a very cool photo contest going on (with some excellent prizes!). My photo from the recent Filson Life post was selected as a finalist. If you dig the photo, can you please take one second to go vote for it? All you have to do to vote is “Like” it on Facebook. Thanks!
Now, to the good stuff!…
Learn How to Cape your Deer
There was a good video posted over at Western Hunter on how to cape a deer in the field. This is especially helpful for those who hunt the backcountry and can’t take their deer straight to the taxidermist. Warning, the video is graphic. Check it out…
Kootenay Bighorn Curl
An awesome story from the Sitka Insight blog. (I mean really, what post on that site isn’t awesome?) Read about the amazing journey that Matt Jurad embarked upon, with guide Dustin Roe, to find and harvest an amazing Rocky Mountain Bighorn up in British Columbia. This is the kind of hunt that dreams are made of. Read the whole thing…
Speaking of Bighorn Sheep…
Check out some great images of Bighorns that Will, of 111° West, captured recently. View the photos…
Train your brain, then your body
This article ties right in with what I have said previously about the mental benefits of physical training. A strong body is nothing with a weak mind! Check it out…
Enjoy the weekend!
