I just heard from my dealer that my 2012 Elite Archery “PURE” is on order. Being that they just announced the 2012s, and I ordered a left handed model, I probably won’t see it for a few months. The wait begins…
- 36″ ATA
- 7″ Brace Height
- 330 IBO
- 70lbs Draw Weight
- 30″ Draw Length
- 80% Let-Off
- Realtree AP Finish
I decided on the PURE for several reasons. At 6′ 3″ with fairly long arms I realized that shooting a short ATA (axle-to-axle) bow just didn’t make sense for me anymore. I actually shoot my current bow well, and I like the maneuverability of a small bow, but I can’t get a proper anchor point and hold proper form. I shoot my current setup fair enough, but I want to take my shooting to the next level and have proper form. To do so I needed to step up to a longer ATA bow which will give me a much more effective string angle with my ~30″ draw length.
The PURE has pretty good speed (330 IB), but more important to me is the feel of the PURE. The draw is crazy smooth, and the wall is solid, and it just holds really well. I’ll be sticking with my current setup for the remainder of this season, and then transitioning to the PURE over the winter and spring months.
Another reason I went with the PURE is because of Elite’s commitment to excellence in customer service and warranty. It is truly the best in the business! I am not one to chase “the latest and greatest” just for the sake of it. My goal in shopping for a bow has been to find the bow that I can settle in and shoot for years to come. I think I made a great choice.
This should be fun!
